DROP HERALD

Privacy policy

We publish a daily list. We do not build a profile of the people who read it. Ads are not active yet. They may be later.

Who is responsible

The controller is the publisher of Drop Herald. The contact address is contact@dropherald.com. We do not publish a company registration number, and we have not appointed a data protection officer. Write to that address for privacy requests. There are no accounts, comments, or newsletters, and no analytics product of our own.

What Drop Herald does not collect

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts pages without a cookie and without your name or email. Google Analytics 4, described below, is optional and off until you accept. We do not ask for your name, email, or payment details on the site. The contact page is a mailto link only. Nothing typed on that page is stored, because there is no form. If you write to us, we see only what you choose to send to contact@dropherald.com, and we keep that mail to answer it.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Delivering a page means the host processes connection data, such as an IP address, to route traffic and resist abuse. We do not use that data to identify readers, and we do not sell personal data. Google and Cloudflare may process connection data outside your country.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 loads only on dropherald.com, and only after a measurement id is set on the server. Preview hosts do not load it. The tag is not an ad. Before you accept, the browser does not request Google's library and nothing is sent to Google. Consent Mode v2 starts with ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, and analytics_storage denied. A refusal is remembered and does not load Google on the next visit. Google says Analytics 4 does not log or store the full IP address: the address is used to derive a coarse location and is then discarded. Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

On the default banner, accepting grants only analytics_storage. Advertising signals stay denied. Google may then set the cookies _ga and _ga_ followed by the measurement id. The choice is stored in localStorage on your device under dh_ga_consent. It is not an account and it is not sent to Drop Herald. Change it with Cookie settings in the footer, or use Google's opt-out: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Advertising

Ads are not active on this site today. There is no AdSense publisher id in production, ad slots are not in the page, and no advertising script is loaded. We may turn Google AdSense on later. Slots would be labeled Advertisement and would reserve space only while ads are enabled, so the page does not show empty boxes now.

Google is a third-party vendor. If ads are enabled, Google may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com and https://myadcenter.google.com. You can also use https://www.aboutads.info/choices and, in the European Economic Area, https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/. How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Consent Mode v2 still defaults every advertising signal to denied. The analytics banner does not grant advertising storage. If ads are switched on before the certified consent message, a separate ads banner can allow the ad request while personalization stays denied, and declining loads no advertising script. When the certified mode is on, visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland get Google's Privacy & messaging instead of our banner, and only after a publisher id is set. Visitors elsewhere, including Brazil, keep our banner, with accept all, refuse all, and customize for analytics and for ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization. Accept and refuse have the same visual weight.

Cookies

A separate cookie policy is linked in the footer. Cloudflare Web Analytics remains cookieless. Drop Herald does not record searches and does not keep a visitor database. The consent choice lives in localStorage, not in a cookie we set. The _ga cookies are set by Google, and only after you accept analytics. Advertising cookies, including DoubleClick cookies, are not set today. If ads are turned on later, Google sets them only after advertising consent.

GDPR and UK GDPR

If the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, the legal bases are consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for Google Analytics 4 cookies and for any future advertising cookies, and legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for serving the page and for the cookieless Cloudflare count. The interests are running a public digest and knowing which editions are read, without identifying you. You can refuse or withdraw consent in the banner. You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests, by emailing contact@dropherald.com. You can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the UK, that includes the Information Commissioner's Office.

LGPD

If you are in Brazil, the controller is the publisher of Drop Herald and the contact is contact@dropherald.com. Publishing this digest and the cookieless Cloudflare count rely on legitimate interest (article 7, IX). Google Analytics 4 cookies, and any future advertising cookies, rely on consent (article 7, I). You may refuse or withdraw that consent with Cookie settings in the footer. You may ask for confirmation, access, correction, anonymization, deletion, portability, and information about sharing (article 18). Because we do not hold a visitor database, there is usually no personal record here. You can still ask, and you can complain to the ANPD.

Do not sell or share

Drop Herald does not sell personal information. While ads are off, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If personalized ads are enabled later, refusing advertising cookies is the opt-out of that sharing. Google's Ads Settings are the other opt-out. We do not run a separate do-not-sell form, because we have no visitor database to sell.

Children

Drop Herald is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
